Who We Are

Beyond The Line was founded in 2022 by then 18-year-old Callum O’Brien, with the aim of bringing bold, exciting theatre to audiences across Liverpool and beyond.

In 2023, the company staged its inaugural production, Two Cities… Half The World Away, written by One Night in Istanbul playwright Nicky Allt. What began as a three-show run at St Helens Theatre Royal quickly gained momentum, leading to a sold-out week at Liverpool Royal Court the following year and continued performances ever since.

Since then, Beyond The Line has continued to grow, developing new productions and collaborating with a range of writers and creatives. In 2026, the company saw its busiest year yet, working on multiple projects including the return of Two Cities… Half The World Away and new collaborations with writers such as Dave Kirby, known for Brick Up the Mersey Tunnel, and children’s author Cheryl Webster.

Beyond The Line remains committed to creating engaging theatre, championing new writing, and bringing stories to life for audiences across the region and beyond.
